Ukrainian film festival presents top award to Iran’s ‘Help!’

The 3rd edition of the International Light Film Festival in Ukraine has awarded its top prize to short Iranian animation ‘Help!’.

The animated film ‘Help!’ directed by Mahnaz Yazdani recently won the Best Short Film Award of the Ukrainian event.

Produced in 2013, the one-minute animation shows a man who needs help, while another man is capturing his image instead of helping him. As the second man falls into a trouble, the other people capture his image instead of helping.

The ‘Help!’ has received a number of awards at several international competitions in different countries, including Canada, France and Afghanistan.

Holding an MA in Animation, Yazdani is an Iranian caricaturist, playwright, animator, and animation director. Starting to make animated films since 2002, she has made several short animations, including ‘It’s Time to Sleep’ and ‘ManIdolCat’.

Established in 2013, Film Festival "Light" is aimed to introduce exceptional intellectual and ethical films including features, documentaries, animations, music videos among others.

Concept of Light Film Festival is pure, good, inspiring cinematograph for all ages.

The third edition of the festival has been held on December 11-13, 2016, in Kiev, just recently informing about the winners.
